i've had an email from a sister who tells me that out in field service this morning a long standing route call has told them she won't be taking any more magazines and doesn't want them calling on her again because she has heard about the jws child abuse scandals and cover ups.

she was quite angry with them and said your elders say there is nothing wrong but there is and it will all come out.. this is the first time anyone i know of has been challenged on the doorstep and they were absolutely shocked and also angry.

angry that the organization is not preparing them for dealing with this and for not being honest with the brothers about what is going on ie: lawsuits etc.. just thought i'd share that with you..

Only "thinking" witnesses will respond with curiosity to such a confronting of their beloved organization. The rest will accept such responses as the interference of the Devil. ( when you are persecuted. A little warped don't you think? )

so at the phd today with my wife and me, and in slowly getting to the heart of matters (like peeling an onion if you ask me), the dialogue in part went like this: .

phd: if it came down to it, would you take a bullet in the head instead of giving up membership in your organization?

wife: absolutely, i would die for my faith.

Its easy for a witness to answer a hypothetical question so affirmatively but I doubt that when faced with the reality they would follow through. Take heart.

Its a good Nunes chart but missing critical info. Dossier was begun by RNC candidates against trump and then taken over by DNC. The investigation into Russian meddling was begun long before the dossier was introduced, begun on info from Australian intel about a trump campaign aide, the Greek one, bragging about Russian meddling in Trump campaign. lol. FISA was based on that to start with. Always good to fact check.

a question after my first JW meeting

i attended my first jw meeting recently.

first, i would like to say what i agree with about the jehovah's witnesses beliefs and practices.. 1. they don't consider israeli's as "god's chosen people" and they don't worship israel as some holy land filled with righteous jews (although there are some there) as most so-called "christians" (christian zionists) erroneously believe they are instead of the "hypocrites" and "vipers" that it is actually filled with.. 2. they don't celebrate "holidays" like easter and christmas which are, in fact, remnants of earlier pagan practices.. 3. they don't put nation before god and christ.

they don't believe in war or going to war because of some crazy government/cia secret agenda.

so i have been "faded" for approximately 2.5 years.

my parents know i haven't attended a meeting in quite some time, but don't know that i have been dating a guy for about eight months.

we really love each other and his family is super sweet.

If you are baptized and inactive and faded successfully it will only be a problem if your family don't believe you when you say you are not doing the horizontal mambo. Are you living with this guy? Then I think you know what the answer will be. If you are going to marry the guy, get it done, then avoid the drama. If you are not ready to marry and you can lie successfully about the sex thing, or in fact can truthfully say there's no cha cha going on, take a chance. Remember, two or more witnesses or a confession is the rule. Definitely tell his parents about the wackiest religion in the country before the introduction.

Snake In My Fridge

i just now went to get meat from my fridge to cook, took the meat out & shut the door as i shut the door i thought i saw a piece of rope in the six pack i had just opened & had removed 2 cans, already drunk 1.. open the door again & there i saw what i thought was a piece of rope, but i look a bit closer ...... shit it's a friggin snake, bugger i had only just taken two cans out wtf.. .

I've always thought of the term "bucket list" as being a negative. No offense if it works for you. I do, however, make plans to do one grand thing a year at least. So far so good. It might sound lame but I want to go to the Ronald Reagan presidential library. He may have been controversial but his reign was a wild time.

Writing a story

i was listening to the audiobook of the silmarillion at work awhile ago and noted that the 'creation story' basically included, god, the devil, angels and even a special people (elves).

(btw gandalf is obviously a jesus-like figure).

i got to thinking that much of the prose of the bible could easily be reworded.. after all bibles like the world english bible are copyright free.
